Sky Combat Ace flies out of North Las Vegas Airport, just north of downtown Las Vegas and about 20 minutes from the Strip. Founded in early 2011 by retired USAF Major and F-16 fighter pilot Richard “Tex” Coe — 1,000+ hours in the Fighting Falcon, 300+ combat hours — SCA started with two Extra 330LC aircraft, the world’s most advanced FAA-certified aerobatic airplane, and has been putting thrill-seekers in the cockpit ever since.

Every flight is led by veteran pilots. You’re not watching an airshow — you’re in it: hands on the stick, pulling Gs, and if you choose the combat experiences, dogfighting your friends in laser-equipped stunt planes.

What to Expect

From Hangar to Wheels-Up

Arrive at our North Las Vegas Airport hangar, meet your pilot, and gear up:

  • Check-in & full ground briefing
  • Photos by the plane
  • Your flight — you're in the cockpit
  • Plan ~3 hours on site total

Wear closed shoes and socks (required) — and bring a warm jacket in winter.

Good to Know Before You Fly

Which days can I fly? +
Flights run Thursday through Monday (we're closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays), with time slots starting as early as 7 AM.
Do I need any flying experience? +
None. Every experience starts with a full ground briefing, and a veteran pilot is in the cockpit with you at all times.
Are there age, weight, or height limits? +
No age limit. Flyers must be between 80 lbs (36 kg) and 265 lbs (120 kg) and no taller than 6'4" (201 cm) to fly in the Extra 330.
Can my friends and family watch? +
Yes — guests are welcome when there's space on our vans and shuttles (please give us 24 hours' notice). The hangar has games, pool tables, and a 120-foot aviation timeline to keep them busy. Want them closer to the action? Ask about our Spectator Flight — they can ride along in another plane and watch you dogfight from the sky.
What should I wear? +
Closed shoes and socks are required; a warm jacket is recommended in winter. Avoid heavy meals right before your flight — see our guide on what to eat before flying.
