“Tex” learned to fly when he was 16 years old and quickly discovered that aviation would be his passion in life. He joined the Air Force in 1997 and became an F-16 fighter pilot. Tex spent several years overseas, including 3 years in Aviano, Italy and 2 years in Kunsan, South Korea.

During his tenure in the Air Force, Tex accumulated over 300 hours of combat time and over 1,000 hours in the F-16. After serving overseas, Tex was assigned to Nellis Air Force Base and his interests migrated towards business. While finishing out his Air Force commitment, Tex earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland and quickly put his business plan into motion.

After separating from the Air Force in 2008, Tex started a flight school, teaching people how to fly airplanes and helicopters. While he loved teaching basic airmanship to students, his real passion was sharing the thrills of advanced aerobatics and aerial dogfighting. In 2011, his vision became reality when he started Sky Combat Ace, the premier civilian aerial combat training center in the world. Tex is a certified flight instructor in airplanes, seaplanes, and is a commercially rated helicopter pilot.
